Holy Week Begins on Sunday, March 28. Here’s a look at the activities and worship Upper Room will be offering that week:

Palm Sunday Worship – Sunday, March 28 @ 11am – 5828 Forward Ave.

Join us at our regular worship time as we remember Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem by worshipping with palm branches.

“Body Mind and Soul” Outreach Display – Week Long – 5828 Forward Ave.

For all of Holy Week, we’ll have an interactive display helping people see the connection between the wellness of their body, mind, and soul and the gospel. In preparation for Easter, we want to proclaim and affirm what gives us life! We’re looking for people volunteer their time and “man” the display on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons of Holy Week. To volunteer, email church@pghupperroom.com.

Maundy Thursday ┬áChristian Seder – Thursday, April 1 @ 7pm – 5828 Forward Ave.

Join us in celebrating Jesus’ Last Supper and celebration of the Passover with his disciples, and his instituting the Sacrament of Communion. The evening of worship will include a full Seder meal, elements of the Jewish Haggadah (Passover liturgy), readings from the gospel accounts of Jesus’ Last Supper, and celebration of Communion. To help with the preparation of food, email church@pghupperroom.com.

Good Friday – Homewood-Brushton Prayer Walk and Vigil – April 2 @ 9:00am – 7310 Frankstown Ave.

Join representatives from churches throughout the city as they gather in Homewood on Good Friday, April 2, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 am to participate in a prayer for peace for Homewood-Brushton. Organized by the House of Manna Faith Community, the multi-cultural, interdenominational group is scheduled to gather first at the Coliseum, 7310 Frankstown Avenue, for fellowship and then leave the building at 10:15 a.m. to pray, lining up along Frankstown and Homewood Avenues.
