Special Offering for Haiti

By | January 15, 2010

In response to the devastation in Haiti from Tuesday’s 7.0 earthquake, we want to join together as a church in supporting the urgently needed relief work. So, this Sunday we will take a special offering, all the proceeds of which will be passed on to relief work in Haiti through the Presbyterian Church’s Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA). During our regular offering time, we’ll have a special vase designated for offerings for Haiti, as well as the normal vase for tithes and offerings to Upper Room. To learn more about Presbyterian Disaster Assistance’s work in Haiti, click here or here. Please consider coming Sunday prepared to participate in this special offering so that we with one voice may show support as a church for God’s work of healing and rebuilding. And of course, keep Haiti in your prayers – praying especially for healing, rescue of those still trapped, and for quick distribution of needed resources like food and water.
